About US Update
Started From a Real Problem.
Grown by a Real Family.
In 2018, Jeremy Glum was doing hands-on work with plants. His arms kept getting scratched, burned, and irritated. He tried everything on the market. Long sleeves were too hot. Nothing lightweight actually protected. So he stopped looking for a solution and built one himself.
Before there was a website or a brand, he was already out knocking on doors, showing up at businesses, seeing who would buy it. His wife Whitney started helping the way spouses do. Then their close friend Kaz came in to help grow it. Seven years later, it’s a real company — still shipping from Watsonville, California, still the same three people.
Meet the Founders

Jeremy Glum
Jeremy is the reason Farmers Defense exists. A hands-on problem-solver by nature, he spent years doing intensive outdoor plant work and kept running into the same wall: nothing protected your skin without making you miserable in the heat.
In 2018, he stopped waiting for someone else to solve it and designed the first Farmers Defense sleeve himself. Before there was a website or a brand, he was already out knocking on doors, showing up at businesses, and doing whatever it took to get it in front of people. That drive is what got Farmers Defense off the ground, and it’s what has kept it growing ever since.
He still oversees product development and wholesale partnerships. He won’t sign off on a product he wouldn’t wear himself.

Whitney Glum
Whitney has been a licensed esthetician in the state of California since 2013. For over a decade, skin care wasn’t just her job. It was the lens through which she saw everything.
When Jeremy started building Farmers Defense, Whitney just started helping. That’s really how it went. He had the idea and the drive; she had a computer and knew how to use it. She started making calls, placing orders, figuring things out. One thing led to another, and somewhere along the way it became something she genuinely cared about.
“As an esthetician, I’ve spent years talking to people about sun damage: what it does over time, how cumulative it is, why prevention matters more than people realize. When I really looked at what we were making, I felt proud of it. These products actually protect your skin. That’s not nothing.”

Kaz Kosciolek
Kaz grew up in Tahoe but ended up on the East Coast in a job that wasn’t right for him. When he made his way back to California, he was already a close family friend of Whitney and Jeremy’s. They knew he had a talent for building websites and marketing, so they asked if he’d help out. He did. As he saw what the business could become, he eventually came on as a full partner.
He came in with a background in photography and marketing and a passion for e-commerce that’s hard to match. Whitney and Jeremy had the product and the grit. Kaz had the business intelligence and the vision to help turn it into something that could actually grow. Farmers Defense wouldn’t be where it is today without him.
When he steps away from work, you’ll find him on the golf course or out spearfishing.
We Don’t Just Say “Sun Protection.” We Mean It.
Whitney spent 13 years as a licensed esthetician before she was a COO. She’s seen firsthand what cumulative sun exposure does to skin, especially for people who work or play outside every day. That’s why every Farmers Defense product carries a real UPF rating. Not a marketing claim. A tested standard we set for ourselves from the beginning.
Good Gear. Good People. Good Reasons.
